Hi there. Just call me Rin.
I came from the Philippines and now work as a library clerk somewhere in the vast prairies of Saskatchewan. As unromantic as it may sound, it’s actually my childhood dream job!
So uh, what would you like to know about me? My educational background is in civil engineering and I worked as a structural designer for three years until I got the dreaded Impostor Syndrome.
I then decided to quit so I could spend the next three years learning how to crochet, mixing essential oils, and mourning for myself for what, I don’t know, being a walking millennial zombie I guess. Fast forward and now here we are. Nothing exciting, nothing really interesting. No glow-up whatnot. (But we’re gonna get there for sure!) I wish I could say more about me. Well, maybe I could. I like seafood, matcha lattes, chamomile tea, and avocadoes. My vision is pretty bad and I have terrible anxiety. Also, I prefer boring trail routes for safety!
Oh and I have a son, the little bun is a toy poodle whose name is Buchi, a Filipino adaptation of the Chinese Jian dui, known in the West as sesame seed ball. It’s actually one of my favorite local desserts!

I started blogging on and off since 2019. At the height of it, I had a thousand readers. But I guess that was because people were in lockdowns and glued to computers. It was the peak of mindfulness and everybody was in their self-care era. Taking deep breaths, eating healthy, doing yoga, and becoming fur parents.
Missbehaving Books or Miss.Be.Having Books both are true in their own rights, came from the idea of me having a huge pile of untouched books. You could say I spend a lot of time browsing for new books to buy on Kobo! And because I prefer digital reading, it’s safe to say I’m having a tougher time controlling myself. Wink! It’s not that I’m collecting, but uh it’s difficult to explain. Let’s just leave it at that.
I’ve always liked reading and I knew one day I would finally share my book opinions to the great internet void. Hello world. But I have a tiny problem. I miss the days when social media was more like a digital scrapbook or something when there were tons of editing tools available for users, all while sharing our precious content. Talk about sharing high school stuff by posting song lyrics!
Initially, I considered social media platforms but I couldn’t pull the trigger. I at least wanted some sort of theme going on, with layouts and having to worry about my font style and colors. Yes, let’s worry about those! I love my headache sometimes. I figured a website was what I needed. Let the game of Color Theory begin!
So what can you expect?
Book reviews minus the “thank you for sponsoring me.“
Yeah, no yeah! Kidding aside, While I would love to reach that point, it’s still a long way to go. I do need to work on my consistency though. It’s a real challenge to stay motivated all the time, hey. And I don’t do half-baked content! So yeah, in addition, you can also expect bookshelf tips, and maybe some reading resources because I’m a library clerk. We always get the inside knowledge that’s for sure.
And before I forget, I also like reading posts from fellow bloggers. Hey, it’s good access to new things! So um.. What do you say, let’s connect?
